APRIL 2012 PRESS:

DuBois Concert Association Announces 2012-2013 Crowd Pleasing Season.

April 11, 2012 (DuBois, PA)

It was announced today that DuBois Concert Association will host another remarkable Three Concert Series that boasts two sought-after tribute performances.   Association membership tickets will go on sale starting April 10, 2012.

This season’s lineup offers crowd-pleasing tributes to two music icons: John Denver and Floyd Cramer.  Ted Vigil not only strikes an impressive resemblance to Denver, his voice echoes the musical memories of a generation who grew to appreciate Colorado, if only through song.   Acclaimed pianist and Country Music Hall of Famer, Floyd Cramer is fittingly paid homage by his grandson, Jason Cramer Coleman who aptly personifies his legendary grandfather’s legacy.

The DuBois Concert Association hosts a “Classic Irish Christmas” with none other than Andy Cooney, dubbed “Irish America’s Favorite Son” by the New York Times.    Since playing to a sold out crowd at Carnegie Hall in 2009, Cooney has been busily singing around the world and out at sea, but will usher in the holiday season with concert goers in DuBois, Pennsylvania.

We are genuinely pleased and humbled at the talent we’re about to be entertained by this year. We expect to see a packed hall because these concerts are exactly what people in our area request and enjoy.” says Bob Moline, Vice President of the DCA.

Members of the Association not only enjoy yearly 3-concert series, but also discounts from local restaurants on the day of each concert.  Participating restaurants include the DuBois Diner, Luigi’s Ristorante, Eat ‘n Park and Perkins Restaurant and Bakery.   Reciprocity agreements with area associations, Lewistown, and Punxsutawney allow DCA members to attend their shows also. Membership tickets can be purchased at the DuBois Concert Association office (814-371-3266).  If seating remains available after Membership sales,  per concert tickets cost $45.  All concerts are held at the DuBois Middle School, located at 404 Liberty Blvd in DuBois, Pennsylvania.

In keeping with their long-standing tradition since 1911, the DuBois Concert Association announced today their Three-Concert Series season for 2011-2012.

This entertainment season will include the much-lauded “Swing Machine” conducted and directed by Robert Feldbush whose musical career spans over 50 years ranging from the United States Navy School of Music to receiving the Distinguished Alumnus Award in music education in 2000, from Kent State in Ohio.  Mr. Feldbush will fill the Big-Band stage with 20 other musicians playing trumpet, trombone, guitar, percussion and guitar.   The Swing Machine concert will be held on September 18th at 3PM at the DuBois Middle School.

SEPTEMBER 2010:

Newly Launched 2011 Performing Arts Schedule Announced in DuBois

September 15, 2010 (DuBois, PA)  The DuBois Area Community Concert Association announced this season’s impressive roster of talent that will take the stage beginning September 30 through April 2011.  The season’s performing arts schedule boasts one of the three celebrated “Irish tenors”, Anthony Kearns (September 30) along with the Presidio Brass in November and acclaimed contemporary violinist, Doug Cameron next April.

“After such an entertaining 2009 season, I am very pleased we have such outstanding musicians performing for music fans and DACCA members again this year ” says Bob Moline, Vice President of DACCA.

The DuBois Area Concert Association, a not for profit organization headquartered in DuBois, selects high caliber talent of varying styles and acts to perform at the Middle School for members of the association as well as public music fans and enthusiasts.  In an effort to foster music education and provide access to renowned players, DACCA often arranges for the musicians to interact with local music students, offering clinics as well as occasional on stage performances.   Recent notable, outstanding performers include The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Broadway stars of the Phantom of the Opera and the Vivaldi Orchestra of Moscow.

In September, the Concert Association winds down their latest membership drive, noting that poor economic times have not dampened the public’s enthusiasm for good quality, live music – a favorite event for many that is not readily found in the surrounding area.

“We’re very fortunate the local businesses as well as music fans continually want to support our organization to bring such attractive performances to our area.  We couldn’t do it without their involvement and consistent interest, “ notes Eleanor Klees, Director of DACCA.   The new season begins September 30th (Anthony Kearns) at the DuBois Middle School located at 404 Liberty Blvd in DuBois.  Tickets and memberships can be purchased at the DACCA office (814-371-3266)
