Michael Amante is a celebrated American singer and stage actor whose voice and presence have captivated audiences and critics around the world.  He sings a repertoire that ranges from Broadway, American Standards, Gospel and Jazz to the soaring notes of High Opera.  He has been called “The People’s Tenor” and “the Prince of High C’s” for his ability to hit and maintain the high notes.  The legendary Tony Bennett refers to him as “the next Mario Lanza.”   In 2001 Michael secured a recording contract with RCA/Victor records and his debut recording of classical songs and arias placed him as the number one artist in Billboard Magazine’s Classical Charts in 2002.

His self-titled PBS Television Special was nominated for a regional Emmy Award. Michael’s stage appearances have included leading roles in West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Lil Abner, Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and La Bohéme. His live concerts with some of the nation’s best symphonies also include music from The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Rigoletto, I Pagliacci, along with Italian classics and standards from The Great American Songbook.

Michael’s memorable command performances to countless dignitaries include Pope John Paul II, Luciano Pavarotti, and former U.S. Presidents Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.  He has appeared on dozens of television shows over the past several years.  Michael is especially proud of the release of patriotic songs entitled “Amante Salutes America” which financially supports his local chapter of Disabled American Veterans. He continues to support their efforts with live concerts and appearances throughout the continental United States. Michael performs for sold out audiences at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, New York City’s Town Hall, and numerous Las Vegas and Atlantic City casinos.  He has been internationally broadcast on syndicated radio programs including Sirius Radio, National Public Radio and the Voice Of America.
